How to Install & Setup Canbus & Steering Controls
NOTE: If there is no supplied canbus, then your steering controls are analogue (resistive). You can map them manually using this instruction (here)
IMPORTANT: If you do not have a canbus at all, do not enter or set any canbus setting. Avoid the car model app completely.
If you have done so, set it all to NULL.
If you have an amplifier system and canbus is supplied (such as the Pajero package B for example) the Canbus still needs to be set but the steering controls are analogue and you map them manually also. NOTE: This harness has no C port connection.
Some JBL harnesses are just to activate the amplifier and send digital audio through and don't need canbus to be set.
YOU MUST CONNECT THE CANBUS TO THE HARNESS AND CONNECT THE CANBUS COMMUNICATION LINE (2 WIRE 8PIN PLUG) TO THE C PORT OR YOU WILL NOT GET STEERING CONTROLS WORKING.
REMEMBER TO SET THE CORRECT CANBUS SETTINGS AFTER DOING SO.
IF YOUR STEERING CONTROLS ARE REVERSED - SEE THE SOLUTION AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE

BE SURE THAT THE C PORT CONNECTION IS PLUGGED IN SECURELY AND FIRMLY SEATED. NOT DOING SO WILL CAUSE INTERMITTENT, PARTIAL OR NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL.
You can view recommended canbus settings (here), in the TEYES App on the unit (you must have internet connection for the TEYES App to function)
Please also check your vehicles product page if it is missing in the above areas.
ENTER SETTINGS

GO TO DEVICE TAB & ENTER CAR MODEL

ENTER CANBUS SETTINGS

IF YOU FIND YOUR STEERING CONTROL VOLUME OR TRACK BUTTONS ARE REVERSED. YOU CAN CORRECT THEM BY REVERSING THEM AGAIN HERE
My steering controls volume and seek buttons are reversed. Go to Settings --> Factory --> 168 --> Original Car Agreement --> Reversal Previous and Next and also Reversal Volume
Special Note:
When it comes to canbus steering controls, it's not uncommon that the call related buttons no longer function. There may also be mode or back button limitations. This is normal when dealing with aftermarket canbus installs.
