Excellent professional product... the only flaw is that the system menu and settings need to be fixed because it’s too confusing and doesn’t translate the set language as best as possible.
I was referred to this head unit by the T'eyes support team after purchasing the incorrect one on the first go-round. I'm glad we ending up finding a unit that would work. I've tested a few different android units for my 2018 passat at this point and this one is my favorite. The user interface is the most stable, well organized and best looking. The fact that it sits inside the factory dash opening makes it look as if it could have come from the factory. Let's also not forget that it has wireless android auto and apple car play.
My only 2 complaints at this point are 1: the microphone quality is not as good as the OEM microphone, but acceptable. (i currently have the T'eyes mic mounted in the factory mic location. I will try different mics and locations in the future) 2. The reverse camera takes about 1.5 seconds longer to show on screen than the factory head unit. It's not a big deal unless you're in a big hurry. Minus one star for these 2 things because there's always room for improvement!
Overall, This head unit is years ahead of most OEM units. I would purchase again.
I recently purchased one of these units for my 2007 VW Eos.
I have had a number of different units over the years replacing the Sat Nav unit that I purchased new with the car. They have all failed to impress until now. The packaging was impressive and the support from all the available videos through the supplied documentation was very detailed and comprehensive. The install was very easy. Remove the trim around the old unit, then 4 screws. Swap over a couple of plugs and you are done. I used a Mk VI Golf setup for the steering wheel controls and they all work perfectly.
The QLED display is a delight. I can now see the display when I have the roof down. Something i have never previously been able to do. The sound quality through my standard speakers is vastly improved.
I use Apple CarPlay and the unit connects in 15 seconds - see the video - I have it set up to start the radio automatically through the Shortcuts App on my iPhone. I had previously installed a reverse camera that Flip out of the rear boot emblem - this has dynamic tracking lines and these all work too.
Software updates are available online too.
What a terrific unit.
