However if you have a Starlink module must remain connected for the front speakers to work. This module also retains the vehicles stock features associated with the Subaru's eyesight system.

Struggling with Setup 60 Days Later

Plug and Play … Nope. Sales won’t refund my money and Tech support sends me to a tech article that has no clarity on fixing my specific issue. Loss cause at this point. Don’t buy is my advice to others…scam central

2016 Subaru Legacy with Eyesight

I could not get my front speakers to work and your Tech Support was very helpful. In the end I discovered that the front speakers connect through the Subaru Starlink module which was attached to the factory radio and that I had to leave it installed. All is good now and I am very happy with the radio.

Really good

It’s better than the idoing model I had previous with a lot of features. I would give it a 5 but there are a few woes. The CarPlay doesn’t always connect, the volume tab isn’t very efficient, the auto dim/ brightness is manual, the biggest issue is the unlimited data SIM card cuts out frequently.

Great Product

Love it. It was a little harder to configure than expected but the great customer service sorted it out nicely.

Pretty damn good

This head unit has been great. I've had it since December 2022 and couldn't be happier. The install is not overly complicated, but it does require a bit of patience with the plug and play. My steering wheel controls were very whacky, but you can select "option 2" and it corrected the button mapping. I love using android auto for my reference drives, as it displays the map and music screens beautifully. I've streamed a quick episode through the unit while waiting for someone and it plays well.

The backup camera does get a bit pixelated, but that's due to the much bigger screen. It's still 100% useable. The few shortcomings are the stock microphone in the Outback will not work, dashboard compass will not work, but still displays in the mirror and the audio presets can cause your speakers to tweak out.

Knowing what I know, I would still buy and recommend this unit, just know you will need to find tune some things, but it's nothing most people couldn't handle.
