Great headunit easy to use a little tricky to set up but worth it
I got the 2K unit, very happy with it. Installation was so easy, everything worked from the start. Highly recommend it, best buy. Delivery was exceptionally fast.
Fantastic Headunit, I got the 2k upgrade, the screen is really nice, the unit is fast and loads up quickly and automatically connects with Bluetooth CarPlay with no problems. I’ve had the unit for about a month and am really happy with it. It looks really good as well. The climate control displays on screen if you have the veloster +. the steering controls work but arnt programmable unfortunately as I would have liked to remap the mode button.
Installation was ok for the most part, the harness provided has small weak pins which are easy to bend so you have to be very careful when plugging as mine got misaligned, just bent it back and it worked fine once I’d found it. The backup camera on the car is 12v and the harness routes it into the canbus box which is 6v, it’s easy to wire up and you can use a wire from a spare harness that’s provided, the pin out diagrams are on the teyes website for the unit and the internet for the car. The canbus boxes are a different make than the ones shown so it’s a different setting on the unit but works perfectly once found.
Would fully recommend, this costs a fraction of what I was quoted at a car audio shop and they couldn’t get one with climate display. The after service was really good as well with advice from Dan during the fitting.
I got this head unit because my stock head unit went black no display. After receiving it and installing it I had no sound. That was due to my specific car having a factory amp and subwoofer (tech package). So long story short, if you have a Veloster that has the tech package. Dimension audio 8 speakers including tweeters and subwoofer. You will need an audio converter (Analog to SP-DIF) for sound. Also, you'll need something to retain your steering wheel controls and backup camera. Like an interface wire harness by Metra or Pac-audio.
